The 49th Annual Chicagoland Gems & Minerals Association Show "United We Rock" will take place on Saturday, May 23rd from 10am-6pm, and Sunday, May 24th from 10am-5pm at the Kane County Fairgrounds. Featuring nationally-known dealers of: jewelry, fossils, semi-precious and precious stones, lapidary arts and artists; there will also be geode splitting, silent auction, Kids Korner, "blacklight" fluorescent mineral display, exhibits, demonstrators, door prizes, and more!

On Saturday May 23rd from 1–5PM we are hosting a live watercolor demonstration by Chicago artist and illustrator Tom Herzberg. Tom is a former faculty member and fine art department chair at the American Academy of Art in Chicago whose illustrations have appeared in the Chicago Tribune, the Washington Post, Playboy, and the Field Museum of Natural History, among many others. He will be painting live in the store, talking through his process and engaging with everyone who gathers around the drafting board. Free to attend, open to everyone, no registration required. Additionally we have a significant neon piece by Ellen Sandor, the Chicago-based multimedia artist known for her work at the intersection of art, science, and technology, who served as Artist in Residence at Fermilab. We also have a LeRoy Neiman limited edition serigraph available for viewing and purchase.

Riverlands Brewing & Rebellion Kettlebell Gym

Join us for a 3.5-mile ruck walk honoring fallen heroes and supporting Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans on 5/24 starting at 10:30 AM. All fitness levels welcome! Join us Memorial Day weekend for a 3.5-mile community ruck walk through St. Charles. We’ll start and finish at Riverlands Brewing Co., with a route that takes us toward the Fox River and through downtown St. Charles. This event is open to all fitness levels. You can carry weight in a backpack, bring a light daypack, or simply walk with us. This event is rain or shine, so please dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. Bring a backpack if you plan to ruck, along with water if you’d like it for the route. After the walk, participants are invited to stick around at Riverlands for food, drinks, and conversation. Ticket proceeds benefit the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans. Your ticket includes a commemorative t-shirt and one free pour at Riverlands.

On Saturday, May 23, we're kicking off our Summer Camp Series with one of our most popular family-friendly events: TURTLE RACES! The most famous turtles from Hickory Knolls Discovery Center square off in tail-to-tail races on our patio (or in the taproom if weather doesn't cooperate). Cheer for your favorites and win prizes! Raffle tickets available for purchase on the patio. All raffle proceeds go to Hickory Knolls to help fund their educational nature programs. SCHEDULE OF EVENTS: - 12pm: Patio Opens with food by the Waffadilla Food Truck PLUS: SAIN Animal Rescue will be here with PUPPIES! - 2pm: Races Begin! - 6pm: Music by Grant Milliren All tables and seating are first come, first served. Please be kind and allow smaller kids to make their way to the front. In the event that we must move indoors, space may be limited. NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINKS ALLOWED.

Show respect for those who have given their lives in service to our country and thank our local veterans at the St. Charles Memorial Day events Monday, May 25. Activities include cemetery ceremonies, a parade, memorial service, and a community breakfast fundraiser.
